Cobalt (II,III) Oxide with the formula Co3O4 is also called tricobalt tetraoxide. It is obtained by combustion of Cobalt Monoxide (CoO). It is used in the ceramics industry to produce glazes and glazes with a deep blue color, called "cobalt blue". It is an active flux that lowers the melting temperature of glazes. Also used as a catalyst for the oxidation of ammonia to nitric acid.
