Potassium Iodate is an inorganic salt of Iodine meeting the Food Codex Chemical (FCC) which can be used as an addition of Iodine in table salt in some countries, and also as a food additive as an adjuvant in flour. Potassium Iodate is also used in many countries for pre-exposure tablets to protect the thyroid from radioactivity in the event of nuclear risks.
